4 Opt-in Tips

It's a fact, emails are now replacing regular mails from the post office. Not only because it is cheaper, since you don't need to buy a stamp, it’s also definitely faster. It can be sent within five seconds, depending on the server, anywhere in the world.

So it understandable that it's being use in the distribute of newsletters, promotional mails, and other forms of advertising.

This is why everyone in the online marketing business is talking about the list. I sure you're heard to buzz, it's bouncing around the internet like an echo.

The moneys in the list. The moneys in the list.. The moneys in the list... And it's ture. The money is in the list.

Just in case you don't know what a list is, it means a list of opt-in email address. The more opt-in's you have, the more emails you can send out, which means, a higher chance of a sale.

Let's say you have 10,000 people in your datebase (your email address List). And that you have a promotion on where you're selling an ebook. You send out an email too your datebase, and within 1 - 7 day you get 2,000 sale from this promotional email.

The ebook costs $67
The cost of sending out the email $0
Which leaves you with $134,000 in your back pocket.

There for, the only question you should be asking now, is:

How can I build a list of email addresses to be able to send those marketing emails?

This is where the opt-in list comes in.

A good opt-in list should include the profile of the email address owner. The following are 4 tips on how to create a comprehensive list for target marketing.

Create your website.

Creating a website these days is simple. With many hosting companies competing with one and other for your custom, the website building process has been made easier. Plus, there are many web designers out there who'll be more than happen to build a great looking site for you.

Anyway, the point of having a website of your own is so you can ask your visitors to register too your newsletter. By doing so you are collecting their details (their email address).

Set up a promotion or a freebie.

You can see this done all over the web. Free screensavers, free games, free download of programs. And all they ask from you is an email address and your name.

You've got a website now, so you can place a check box on the registration form for sending of email. I'm sure, when you think about it these something you can give out as well. HINT, have a look at PLR.

Write and write some more.

There are some web magazines and article sites like this one where the readers can submit a post for a particular topic. If you had a chance to do so, add a bio with a link to your website where your opt-in is.

Some readers of your article may enjoy your work so much they’d be pulled towards your website.

Pose an easy opt-out option.

People who joined your opt-in list could, along the way may want to opt out of it somehow. People who are wary of joining may not join at all if they see that it would be near impossible to remove their email address from the your listing.

Show them that it is as easy to opt-out as it is opting in.
