A Guide to the Palau Congressos Barcelona Montjuic 1 Exhibition Centre

The Palau de Congressos de Barcelona is a large convention centre located in picturesque Montjuic in Barcelona. It is easily accessed via metro and bus transport connections from Placa Espanya, which is a 5 minute walk from the centre.

Getting There - Visitors have three options for arriving at the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona from Barcelona Airport. These include the Aerobus (or Express bus) service, the RENFE train and metro service, or regular taxis.

The Aerobus can be boarded outside any of the Airport 2 terminals. For the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona, you will want to disembark at Placa Espanya. It takes approximately 30 minutes to arrive at your destination. The RENFE train can be caught from the airport to Barcelona Sants, where you would then take the metro (or subway) to Placa Espanya. This journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Additionally, a large taxi service operates outside the airport. They will charge approximately 22 Euros to take you to the city center plus an additional supplement for each suitcase that you are carrying. This is the fastest journey, taking about 20 minutes.

Once you arrive, you'll find that there are hotels within walking distance of the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona Montjuic 1 Exhibition Center. Some of these include the Fira Palace Hotel, the Catalonia Barcelona Plaza, and the NH Sant Angelo: These are 3 and 4 star hotels. The 5 star Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel overlooking the Barcelona Port Vell marina with panoramic views of the Mediterranean is a short 10 minute taxi ride from the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona.

The centre is within walking distance of the Catalan modern art museum MNAC as is the Olympic stadium. Freddie Mercury sang "Barcelona" as the theme song for the Olympic Games that were held here in 1992. Every evening, the Magic Fountain of Montjuic-a water and music show-kicks into operation as entertainment for passersby. The timing of the show varies according to the time of year. With its easy accessibility to and from the airport, to hotels and rented apartments, and to entertainment and cultural points of interest, the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona in picturesque Montjuic is a terrific choice for an exhibition.
