David Cook: Pitching to Win American Idol

David Cook embarked American Idol history by making a no.1 hit while still in the competition with his rendition of Mariah Carey’s Always Be My Baby much to the fascination of the industry’s top artists. The show’s producers might as well sign his winning record deal now.

Not only did this singing wonder from Missouri gave the show its best ratings yet, but no amount of originality has ever graced its contestants which makes this talent show reach its purpose. American Idol is lucky they got their hands on David Cook first, which makes it only right for America to let this overly-talented guy win.

On last week’s elimination show when Syesha was eliminated, clips of the three final contestants returning to their hometowns were shown. Both David Archuleta and Syesha’s hometowns greeted them with great excitement, but when David returned to Kansas City it was like watching a hero’s inauguration. Thousands of fans all came to see their city’s greatest talent come home and perform for them. It was such a beautiful thing to see someone’s dreams turn into reality, especially when David was caught deeply overwhelmed slightly breaking in tears. The American Idol star even got the chance to pitch for the Orioles Royals and sing Take Me Out to The Ballgame for baseball fans.

The two have certainly come a long way since Hollywood. This week’s anticipated AI finale is sure to generate more money any live television show has ever made simply because the whole world is eager to watch David Cook go up against the wonder boy David Archuleta in the most popular talent show on Earth. It’s never too early to claim that we know which David is going to prevail as the next singing superstar.
