Going, Going, Green!

In a time where the landfills are overflowing with our trash, we need to be more conscious of what we through away. I have faith that we all are doing our part recycling paper and plastic products. My big concern today is what we do with our used and outdated electronics. These are the items that can't be upgraded or fixed that are not biodegradable and are a major issue for the landfills to process.

The answer is the three 3 R's (Recycle, Reuse, Redistribute). There are companies (non-profit) who will take these items off your hands to stop them from making it the weekly trash pick up. There are drop off points and some will even come to your home or office to pick them up. Once in their position, these companies do their best to harvest usable parts for redistribution. But first they will make an attempt to fix the broken parts. If fixable, the refurbished product will be given at no cost to those in need such as schools, Goodwill or other organizations who can't afford to buy them.
