Houses on the Costa del Sol

By: SarahC

Because Spain is a wonderful place to live the property market here is an attractive option for a safe investment, if you go about it in the right way. The climate in many areas of Spain means that if you have the time, energy and motivation, it is not difficult to lead a healthy lifestyle. If you enjoy walking, swimming, playing golf, tennis, or water sports this is the country for you.
Lower home prices will allow low-income families and young people to enter the market, however there is a strong perception that house prices never go down. Banks offer 40 year mortgages and, more recently, up to 50 years. If you would like to view houses for sale on the Costa del Sol we have a a wide variety from small town houses to large country mansions.

Chalets were almost one-storey houses until recent years, but increasingly the newer chalets have two or even three floors. Many have swimming pools in the garden, fruit orchards, patios and shady areas. Fincas are estates, usually quite large. Most of them consist of an old house surrounded by land with olive, orange and lemon groves. The house often has an indoor patio, and a large terrace with vines to provide shade from the sun.
More and more non-residents considering a property purchase in Spain look for land to build their own dream villa. Increasingly Spanish real estate agents include plots of land in their property for sale. If this is something that you would like to do, the average construction price of a Spanish property ranges from € 700 to € 900 per m2. It is entirely possible to spend more or less than this although these figures are a reasonable estimate.
Once the plot has been found it is fun time, designing your very own eco friendly villa will be a fascinating experience and your actually doing something about the state of our planet. Designing the layout of your dream home is great but actually watching your own design being built is an unbeatable experience. All along the design process you have 100% input, from what tiles, bathroom and kitchen furniture you choose to what eco friendly extras you may decide on, from grey water systems and geo thermal heating to waterless toilets and solar power, we can probably build you the most eco friendly green home in Spain.
