It is not necessary that the items should be very expensive. They can be of lower prices but should include all the possible facilities. Thus while buying a fireplace, it should known of which fireplace is the best amongst the others.
The fireplaces bring a feeling of coziness in the house. During the cold winters they provide all the required warmth in the house. In the olden times, wooden fireplaces were used. But with the passing time people have understood the importance of wood and thus gas and electric fireplaces were invented.
The technology used in a gas fireplace initially was thought to be very complex but actually is very simple. A natural gas or a propane gas is enclosed in the firebox. It has glass walls for the easy and direct viewing of the fire in the fireplace. Turning on the switch of the fireplace causes a spark or an ambience that will cause the fire in the fireplace without causing any kind of mess up job like the ones caused in the earlier wooden fireplace. There are mainly three types of gas fireplaces namely the factory built, free standing and inserts.
Factory Built: These are usually built during the renovations or when the house is being built.
Free Standing: These fireplaces most closely resemble the ancient wooden fireplaces and are the most effective as they are exposed from all the surfaces.
Inserts: These are created such that they have to be placed in the already built cavity for a fireplace in the walls. For these fireplaces a well designed chimney with a proper vent is a must for the smoke to escape from the house.
Below we have discussed about a few important points that should be kept in mind before selecting the right fireplace.
1 A fireplace with an automatic starter should be selected as they are more energy efficient than the pilot light type.
2 A direct vent fireplace should be selected due to their energy efficiency and safety.
3 The fireplace should have a ceramic glass front instead of the tempered glass as the former transmits the infra red heat from the flames to the room better than the latter. Also the ceramic glass also is more heat resistant and thus doesn't break easily.
4 It should have a circulating fan for forcing the convective heat into the room.
5 The fireplaces with a secondary heat exchanger should be preferred as they force more heat into the rooms.
6 It should also have the setting systems for adjusting the temperatures and the energy consumption.
These important points may thus now guide you to select the best fireplace for your beautiful house. Nowadays these fireplaces are available in new and attractive designs making the selection easier.
