A synchronized, equivalent captions should be provided for all presentations on the web, played on multimedia players like the Windows Media Player, Quicktime or RealPlayer, this feature can also be added to the audio where technology such as Flash, Shockwave or Java is incorporated .

Another notable advantage adding a transcript to a video is that search engines will index your multimedia presentation based on the spoken words of the video getting mentioned in the transcript, and those getting featured in key word search engines.
