The 3.5 quart capacity bags use impact foil to prevent sharp objects from penetrating the bag and an indicator light lets you know when the bag is full and ready to be changed. The stainless steel wand telescopes and attaches easily to the canister to make storage a snap. All this attention to detail makes the Orion stand out from the pack when it comes to quality floor care.

The Miele Vacuum cleaners model no. S4780 Orion comes with a 7-year warranty on the suction motor and a 1-year warranty on all non-wearing components. It comes equipped with the standard set of tools including a crevice tool for corners, a natural bristle dusting brush and an upholstery nozzle for cleaning the sofa and drapes. The Orion has a 29.5 foot operating radius and a safety shut-off to prevent overheating. Pros: The S4780 Orion is everything I’ve come to expect from a Miele. It is powerhouse of suction power housed in a small and maneuverable canister. Allergy sufferers will love the Sealed System and HEPA filter. The 1200-watt motor is remarkable quiet. In fact, you could turn your stereo on and listen to music while you clean. It’s that quiet.

Cons: Miele Vacuums products aren’t cheap. They are, in fact, a serious investment. Some people may not care to pay for a Miele in spite of the quality. To that, I say, you get what you pay for. I don’t save any money if I have to buy a new upright every few years. The Miele is well-built and sturdy with tremendous suction. That’s what you’re paying for. Other than price, I can’t imagine what anyone would find at fault with this vacuum.

The Miele S4780 Orion is a product that earns every bit of its great reputation. It earned it with performance and consistency, two things that mean a great deal when it comes to carpet care. It’s an investment that will prove its worth for years to come.
