First of all, in your profile make sure that you make it very clear that you have some extra weight. You may even want to state your dress size to give him some idea of how overweight you are. Just to put things into perspective, I had a guy reject me for my weight when I was a size 12 (think a little skinnier than Marilyn Monroe, and you’ll have what a size 12 looks like). Some guys just have certain preferences and there is nothing you can do about it.

Do a Little Sleuthing

When a guy contacts you, check out his profile for extensive athletic activities. If you find them, ask him directly if the fact that you have a bit of extra weight on you will bother him. Generally fitness nuts are looking for each other, and will not be interested in you. Don’t always think that he will be reading your profile – I would say about 25-40% of the men who contacted me when I was dating did not read my profile beyond the first few lines.
Most of all, enjoy yourself and be confident. Before you go out on a date, psych yourself up by writing down all of the accomplishments that you have achieved in your life, like getting a degree or taking care of your elderly parents. This will bolster your confidence and make you incredibly attractive.
