Lack of Preparation for Technical Job Interview:
Many software developers fail to plan for their technical
job interview until they find themselves out-on-the street
looking for a new job and by then it's too late.
They discover too late at their job interview that their
programming skills are rusty and that they have a limited
vocabulary with which to communicate.
The way to deal with this situation is to start your
preparation for your job interview very early or months
before you need it. That way, you will not be blindsided or
feel over-whelmed by any sudden, un-expected job interview.

Programmers Fail At Technical Programming Interviews
Because of Lack of Confidence:
Lack of self-confidence can lead to a weak presentation at
technical programming interviews.
Now, the thing to remember is that hiring managers and
employers do not choose candidates based on their technical
skills alone but also on their presentation skills. This is
more the case in Senior Software/Architect Level Job
Interviews than in beginner or junior computer programmer
technical interviews.
Well programmers who are not confident in themselves
usually convey their lack of confidence to their employer
during their job interview. Unfortunately lack of
confidence at technical programming interviews either
signify a lack of technical knowledge or perhaps that you
lied about your resume, skills and experience or you are
just incapable of doing the job.
So, you've been warned. Whatever you do, don't exhibit
shyness, timidity, nervousness or lack of self-confidence
at your technical programming job interview.

Lack of Real-World Programming Experience:
Your ability to show, demonstrate or prove that you have
real-world programming experience that matches or exceeds
that of the position you apply for will make or break your
technical interviews.
This is because hiring managers don't want to hire
programmers who don't already have the level of expertise
and experience required to do the job.
So, this can be a strong advantage or strong dis-advantage
for you. If you can show your hiring manager that for
example, you've worked on the same type of software
development project, or that your recent programming
experience is relevant to the job opening you are almost
hired and if you can't, you will be shoo'd out the door.

Help For Programming Job Interviews
I've interviewed with several software development teams
over the ten years for several technical software
development positions.
My background as a contract programmer means that in the
course of a year I may work on several different projects
for several different clients. Before I work with a new
client, I usually have to take and pass several technical
programming interviews, sometimes adding up to 5 different
technical tests.
This means that every year, I have to take dozens of
face-to-face job interviews, phone interviews and online
programming tests in the course of working for one or more
clients.
So, over the years I gained a lot of expertise and
mastered the "Art of Taking Programming Job Interviews".
Which leads me to where I'm now sharing the secrets,
principles and techniques I use to ace several programming
job interviews over the last decade.
