However the message coming from the companies that are suffering is that British is still best. According to them we should be supporting UK racking suppliers.

The first reason we should be doing this is for quality. These companies maintain that the quality of UK racking is far superior to that which is made in other countries. They also say that people should feel a sense of responsibility to buy things that are locally or nationally produced. The economy is not faring very well in the UK at the moment and business owners here reckon they could do with a helping hand. The last thing they need is for people to stop buying their products.
Obviously this is easier said than done. Even though there are many UK racking firms most of them sell stock that is produced in China, India or other continents. This is because of the relative cheapness of the products. Consumers have got used to the lower prices that came with globalisation now. Think of the fashion industry for example, you can now buy a t-shirt made in say Bangalore for three pounds, where as one made in England would probably cost thirty five pounds. That is ten times the price so its no surprise that consumers are buying the products that are made abroad.

Even if it is difficult for people to buy UK products they can still purchase products made in other countries from British businesses. Its better than nothing, in the opinion of those that think our economy needs rescuing. For example, if you purchase products from a UK racking company owned by British managers, the money for the product will still go to that company and give them some profit to keep their business going. The internet is the ideal place to try and find a UK racking firm. Just type the phrase into a search engine and the relevant information will be on your screen in seconds. If you are based in the UK, using a British company over one in another country means that if there are any problem with your purchase or if there are any other complications with the product or service then you will be able to sort it out more easily.
